Toy List: Kitchen ESDM Levels 1 and 2 (young learners)
Hooks: light up toys/noise, things that spin, water/sensory element, repetition, SSRs (like “yummy/yucky”), open/close doors, sorting/matching
Kitchen and accessories: Kitchen themes are great because they can grow with your child as they increase their play skills over time - so toys that can grow!
Level 1: When starting out, we typically stick to just the pretend kitchen and add individual hook elements - OR pair an accessory that has the needed hook/element.
Level 2: We want to add a few more steps and complexity - maybe the hook involves some sensory element or SSR. You can use real water, wash dishes with real water and soapy bubbles, feed playdoh food, lean into the cognition element of cutting food, matching, or sorting. The options are endless!
